New Scan / Update Tasks

From the Endpoints Module you can initiate new on-demand scans and force definition updates as tasks.

Scan Tasks

To initiate a new scan task:

• Select the endpoint(s) from the endpoint table
• Click the "New Scan Task" button

• This will bring up the New Scan Task dialog

• Select the targets you would like to scan from the Targets menu
• (Optional) Select "Scan without cleaning" to run the scan task but not perform any cleanup of threats
• (Optional) Enter a description for the task.
• Click Submit

If the ERA server is accessible, the task will be sent immediately.

If the ERA server is offline or not accessible, the task will be pending until the plug-in can synchronize with the ERA server.

You can monitor the created tasks from the Tasks log module

Update Task

To initiate a new update task:

• Select the endpoint(s) from the endpoint table
• Click the "New Update Task" button

If the ERA server is accessible, the task will be sent immediately.

If the ERA server is offline or not accessible, the task will be pending until the plug-in can synchronize with the ERA server.

You can monitor the created tasks from the Tasks log module
