Detecting your ESET server(s)

The plug-in adds new Role Detection rules to the LabTech database.

You ESET Servers should automatically be detected as soon as your agents run through their inventory schedules defined in LabTech.

You can force this process to detect the ESET server immediately:

• Right clicking on a LabTech agent, client, location, or group containing an agent hosting an ESET server
• From the context menu select Commands -> Inventory -> Resend system info
• Repeat the process a second time, but select Commands -> Inventory -> Update Config

Verifying the ESET server is detected

You can verify an ESET server is detected by opening the Computer Windows of a LabTech agent and clicking on the "Detected Roles" tab.

You should see "ESET Server V5" as a detected role.

*If you see ESET Server 5 (Not V5) this is a role detected by the old ESET plugin. This can be ignored but note that the ERA server will not work with the new plugin until the correct role is also detected.

Forcing ESET server detection

In the event you want to force a LabTech agent to be found as an ESET server (not recommended) you can force the role.

• Open the Computer Window of the LabTech agent
• Click the "Detected Roles" tab.
• Click the "Overrides..." button on the bottom right of that window
• Click "Add..."
• Select "ESET Server V5" as the Role Template
• Select Apply as your method
• Click Add
• Click Add again

This agent will now be detected as an ESET server.
